Villages are small places with few inhabitants (people
who live in a place). There are few services in villages, but in Spain there is usually a square,
a church and a town hall.
There is often a main street with shops, too. If the village is too small, the
children go to school in a near village. Many people who live in villages work
in arable or livestock farming or in tourism.
In Spain, the village with the
smallest population is Illán de Vacas, in Toledo, with only 1 inhabitant (2014).
Towns
and cities are
large places with many inhabitants. There are squares,
parks
and churches in towns and
cities, and there is a town hall too. There are many shops and there are also many services.
People who live in towns and cities work in a variety of jobs. They can work in
offices, banks, hospitals, factories, etc.
In Spain, the city with the largest
populations is Madrid, with
about, 3.165.000 inhabitants (2014).
